Delicious Bookmarks

October 27th, 2010

One online tool I have used for a while, and used some last year is the online bookmarking site http://www.delicious.com

This website allows one to post bookmarks online and to attach tags, or keywords to each link.  These tags can be used to sort the bookmarks and also to find other websites that people have tagged similarly.

I am going to start trying to add extra resources, extensions and neat websites relating to both math and science to my own Delicious bookmarking site at http://www.delicious.com/mrweis

I have started today with link to a site with some nice flash illustrations of different types of weathering.  These animations cover some of the forms of weathering we will be discussing in class and also add information about some other types of weathering that the book doesn’t mention.  Each animation is additionally accompanied by a thorough explanation about what that weathering process entails.

A link to the site can be found here or by traveling to my delicious site at http://www.delicious.com/mrweis and clicking on the link at the top of the page for the “Weathering and climate animations and information”

Finally, I will also be checking in with the students about how to use the delicious bookmarking page soon.
